Update from Deutschland
Things have been great for the Dyer family lately. We celebrated Christmas and New Years here in Germany which was awesome. We have both been staying busy with work and church callings but we've made it a priority to slip in a fun trip or two every month.

It was interesting celebrating Christmas here because it was the two of us. We could have gone to the States to be with family but we are trying to save up leave for this summer.

Opening Christmas presents...on Christmas Eve!!! My parents never let us do this, so you can see why I'm all excited :)

Belgium - Looking out over the landscape on top of a WWII memorial. We drove to Belgium on a Saturday for lunch and to get some yummy pastries and see this memorial. Actually the main reason why we went there was to drop off a WWII artifact at a museum. The owner of the artifact was loaning it to the museum so they could keep it on display. Well, the museum owner wasn't there when we got there. So instead of thinking the trip a bust, we had a lovely lunch and afternoon touring the countryside.

It was FREEZING!! And Jon is no wuss when it comes to the cold...that would be me.

The WWII memorial that we were standing on top of. It has the names of all the US states on it.

A fortress ruin about 10 minutes from our home. We drive past it everyday. It was about time we explored it. Note to self...beware the ice on the ground.

**By the way, this post has been sitting in the queue for a while. Jon was supposed to fill it in with text...but that didn't happen. Cheers!
